only one name means protektion? www.protekdevices.com 05143.r9 10/10 page 5 05143 slvda2.8lc application information figure 1 - bidirectional common - mode protection the slvda2.8lc provides 4 lines of protecton in a common mode confguraton. circuit connectvity is as follows: ? line 1 connected to pin 8. ? line 2 connected to pin 7. ? line 3 connected to pin 6. ? line 4 connected to pin 5. ? pins 1, 2, 3 and 4 connected to ground. circuit board recommendations circuit board layout is critcal for electromagnetc compatbility protecton. the following guidelines are recommended: ? the protecton device should be placed near the input terminals or connectors, the device will divert the transient current immediately before it can be coupled into the nearby traces. ? the path length between the tvs device and the protected line should be minimized. ? all conductve loops including power and ground loops should be minimized. ? the transient current return path to ground should be kept as short as possible to reduce parasitc inductance. ? ground planes should be used whenever possible. for multlayer pcbs, use ground vias. figure 2 - bidirectional differential - mode protection the slvda2.8lc provides four line pairs in a diferental mode confguraton. circuit connectvity is as follows: ? line pair 1 connected to pins 8 and 1. ? line pair 2 connected to pins 7 and 2. ? line pair 3 connected to pins 5 and 4. ? line pair 4 connected to pins 6 and 3. 1 2 4 8 3 5 6 7 line 1 line 2 line 3 line 4 1 2 4 8 3 5 6 7 line pair 2 line pair 1 line pair 3 line pair 4
